The Game Chef

Here at The Game Chef we know a thing or two about being creative with the countryside’s finest. Having provided around 2000 shoot lunches over the last few years, we’ve had enough practice. The company was created by Tom Godber-Ford Moore, who cut his culinary teeth cooking around the Mediterranean for clients ranging from Italian artists to the King of Spain. He has eaten and drunk his way around most of the region, and now applies all he learnt to the medium of Game.

Game Chef HQ being bang in the middle of Exmoor, there is certainly no shortage.

We work with a number of local shoots, and the National Trust, to provide us with a supply of meat that we think is the finest around. We are heavily involved in the shooting world…by which we mean that during the season nothing exists outside the shooting world…and firmly believe that one of the best ways to ensure the sustainability of our sport is to make sure that every animal shot goes into the food chain.
We think our products make this as easy (and delicious) as possible…

Lee House also provides guests with a free private car park (subject to availability), complimentary network services and WIFI access, a south facing  terrace with tables and chairs and guest sitting room with local interest books, maps and walking route suggestions .  We are situated in the heart of Lynton on Lee Road.  There are many wonderful walks from Lynton and Lynmouth and many guests leave their car in our car park for the duration of their stay  as they explore the amazing countryside we have on our doorstep.

Carmela took part in abseiling, in which she was strapped to a wheelchair and couldn’t stop laughing at me screaming with fear, she thought it was highly hilarious.

Many years ago I lived and worked in the area for a while, have always loved it and was delighted to find Dairy Cottage in 2018.  We live at the other end of Somerset on the Mendip Hills so can visit frequently ourselves but also let to holiday guests.  We particularly like to welcome those who enjoy the natural world and all it has to offer.  The cottage sleeps up to 5 people but better suited to less, is dog friendly, kept clean and wi-fi is included.  For full details and over 20 photos please see our webpage with Independent Cottages –
