Nestled on the southern gateway to the breathtaking Exmoor National Park in Dulverton, Somerset, our independent, family-run distillery crafts premium gins, rums and vodka that capture the wild beauty of the South West and reflect our commitment to quality over quantity.

Founded in 2017 by John and Nicola Smith, Exmoor Distillery grew from a lifelong dream shared over three decades of travel, conversation and a mutual love for fine spirits. After years of sampling the world’s finest spirits, they realised there was something missing — a spirit that married exceptional craftsmanship with a true sense of place. That realisation sparked a bold ambition: to create spirits that could rival the best in the world, yet be unmistakably rooted in the rugged landscape they call home.

Our distillery is deeply connected to the land. We draw pure water from the Exmoor Aquifer, a unique local source, and use it throughout fermentation, distillation and proofing to give our spirits a distinctly smooth and natural profile — an authentic expression you won’t find anywhere else.

At the heart of Exmoor Distillery is true artisan craft. Each spirit is meticulously produced on-site, with traditional hand-made care matched with a modern distillation precision. Our flagship Northmoor Gin — sets the tone for what we do: vibrant, aromatic spirits with complex yet balanced character. Since then, we’ve expanded our repertoire to include several expressions, from Navy strength gins to barrel-aged rums and smooth botanical vodka, each showcasing our commitment to innovation without compromise.
