Nomad Architecture

Nomad Architecture was established with the goal of exploring the word ‘home’. Our home is Exmoor, its extraordinary landscapes and its surrounding villages and towns.

Good architecture comes from understanding the people and places that make our work possible. We think a home can only be fully understood by experiencing it mindfully and seeing how its occupants use and shape it to make it their own. By exploring these ideas, we learn what ‘home’ means to our clients.

Exmoor Magazine

Exmoor Magazine, established in 1997, is a rather special, locally-owned, locally-produced quarterly for all who love Exmoor, North Devon and the Quantocks.

It is a features-led, high-quality publication collected and loved by locals and visitors alike.

The magazine is a huge local advocate, networking and supporting all local businesses and community groups as well as being an asset to Exmoor National Park.

Molton Monthly Magazine

Molton Monthly Magazine is the independent community news and business advertising publication established in 2007 to serve North Devon and Exmoor.

The award-winning 64 page magazine is an Exmoor National Park Partner and a North Devon Biosphere Business Partner, helping to promote sustainability and support local jobs and businesses to create a thriving rural economy and keep isolated communities connected. It focuses on local news, features, photos and what’s on listings, plus a comprehensive business advertising service and index.

It is printed on recyclable, carbon neutral paper using solar power as part of its commitment to sustainability. It won the inaugural North Devon Flourishing Culture Awards for rural community engagement in 2025, became the South West Rural Enterprise Champion in 2023 and was recognised by Age UK for continuing to support communities through the Covid pandemic.

More than 5,500 copies are delivered free, door to door, in the last week of each month to homes and businesses in North Molton, South Molton, Chulmleigh, Chittlehampton, East & West Buckland, Swimbridge, Bishops Nympton, Kings Nympton, Heddon, Alswear, Heasley Mill, Rose Ash, Bish Mill, Clapworthy Mill, George & Queens Nympton. There are also pick-up points around South Molton, Pathfields Business Park, Atherington, Umberleigh, Chawleigh, Chittlehamholt and select North Devon and Exmoor pubs.

Roots & Feathers

We are a family business based in Exmoor National Park inspired by the beautiful and wild landscape.

We hold creative art classes intertwined with the seasons and inspired by the landscape and coastline.

We teach yoga classes and hold workshops indoors as well as outdoors whether it’s on the beach, on the moors or in the woods combined with forest bathing in harmony with nature.

We also organise seasonal walks to learn more about plants and trees and what is around us depending on the seasons.

Barnbuskers Ceilidh Band

We are a ceilidh and barn dance band based in West Somerset and we play for birthday parties, weddings, anniversary parties, work Christmas parties, as well as village hall events and fund-raisers. We bring our own caller, who will explain the dances with a walkthrough before the dance starts and remind everyone what to do as the dance progresses. So even if no-one has been to a barn dance previously, our caller will have you dancing in no time, and it will definitely be fun!

The music is provided by the band of fiddle, accordion, bass and clarinet. We can do different-sized bands to suit your budget – so if it’s a small event, you might just need a duo (eg fiddle and accordion).

In addition to the barn dances, our band leader Judy also does weekly hour-long dances in Watchet in Minehead, with recorded music, so you can get your fix of weekly barndancing fun. These are currently at 5pm on Wednesday at the Minehead Rugby Club, and 6pm on Thursday at the Watchet Bowling Club.

Here in Exmoor National Park, the light has a beautiful quality that draws out the subtle tones of this ever changing landscape. Rich colours of gorse and heather through the summer months and the rich reds of bracken during the autumn and winter months. To live, paint and take photographs in this place is a dream for an artist.

We are based in Porlock, a working village in the heart of Exmoor National Park, an area from which we draw our inspiration. You will find our Gallery on the High Street and our Studio / Gallery a short distance away, both locations allow us to exhibit our work throughout the year, alternately please visit our online shop where you can view and purchase original paintings and fine art Giclée prints of selected works. Most work can be delivered free within mainland UK and at cost for other locations.

I’ve been shooting weddings in a documentary style for nearly 20 years now but have followed my heart to move well away from traditional wedding styles (rigid formal group shots) to incorporate a mix of reportage (documentary or candid captures) with editorial bridal portraits allowing me to capture what I believe are the very best parts of any wedding: the people, the details and the emotion.
It is from this blend of Reportage and Editorial that I coined Repotorial (REPOrtage and ediTORIAL) a mix of two classic and enduring styles.

Hi, quite simply I make handmade wooden games, game accessories, homeware items and gifts. From chessboards, cribbage sets, lamps, bottle openers, phone holders to my take on some old pub games. All items for sale are made by me in a very small workshop located on the fringes of Exmoor National Park in deepest darkest Somerset from solid hardwoods. I am based out of Windfall Furniture, Sea Lane Dunster where my dad makes beautiful live edge furniture.
